James Xander Steele has created his first novel that lives up to his middle name that means “defender of man” He creates a potent mixture of history, fast moving adventure, intrigue, and abject terror, with a dash of romance. He has lived all of his life in the west and southwestern United States with his beautiful wife. His inspiration comes from his extensive travels in the Southwest and Mexico. He clears his writing block with fly fishing trips in Colorado and long walks with his beloved Labrador dog, Abby.
What inspires Me To Write!
I am a keen observer of life and events occurring around me at all times. I love the smell of freshly cut grass, the beauty of a blossoming flower, the whispering rustle of leaves on an idyllic mountainside, and the inexhaustible depths and variability of people’s emotions. It is their physical reactions to unfettered joy, heart wrenching grief, fiery explosive anger, and the unfathomable depths of despair, that keep my creative juices flowing.
It was a library of life experiences that triggered my creation of my recent novel. This book was based on an actual tragic event of a student massacre in Mexico City. My creative license allowed me to fictionalize an intriguing thought provoking story around the event. I love this creative aspect of writing that can bring my disjointed ideas and random thoughts into a cohesive reality on the written page. It is a beautiful process.
